Changing Your Default Browser: Choose Which Browser to Open Links/Files

Customize the browser you want to use for opening links and files on your system. Here’s how to do it:

For Windows:

  1. Select Start >Settings > Apps > Dafault apps.
  2. Under Web browser, click the browser currently listed, and then select your preferred browser.

For macOS Ventura or later:

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Settings.
  2. Click Desktop & Dock in the sidebar.
  3. Scroll down and select a web browser from the Default web browser menu on the right.

For earlier versions of macOS:

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences > General.
  2. Choose a web browser from the Default web browser menu.

Choose Which Browser Opens Web Links in Teams:

  1. In Teams, click on Settings and more (…) > Settings next to your profile picture.
  2. Under Files and links > Links open preferences, select Default browser.

Choose Which Browser Opens Web Links in Outlook (Desktop App):

  1. From the File menu, choose Options > Advanced.
  2. Scroll to File and browser preferences > Open hyperlinks from Outlook in:, then select Default Browser.
