Text Wrapping in Word
This Tech Tip edition provides instructions for how to wrap text around pictures to position them in various locations within your Word document.
Word for Windows:
- Select the picture.
- Click on Layout Options.
- Choose the layout you want. In Line with Text places the picture within a paragraph, moving as text is added or removed. Other options allow you to move the picture freely on the page, with text flowing around it.
Word for macOS:
- Select the picture or drawing object.
- Go to Picture Format or Shape Format in the Ribbon and choose Arrange > Wrap Text. If the window is wide enough, Word displays Wrap Text directly on the Picture Format tab.
- Choose the wrapping options you prefer.
Word for the Web:
- Insert and select a picture.
- Go to Picture > Wrap Text, and choose a layout.
