Using Jump Lists for Quick Access
Jump Lists provide quick access to the files and features you use most frequently. They display a list of recently used files associated with programs pinned to the taskbar or Start menu. To open a Jump List, right-click on any pinned program in the taskbar or Start Menu, and the list of recently opened files will appear.
Clearing Jump Lists
To clear all Jump Lists:
- Open the Start menu and select Settings > Personalization > Start.
- Toggle off Show recently opened items…, then toggle it back on. This will clear all Jump Lists.
To remove an individual item, right-click on the entry and select Remove from this list.
Adding Items to Jump Lists
Jump List items appear when you open them, but Windows limits the list to 10 items in Windows 10 and 13 in Windows 11, with newer items replacing older ones. To keep an item permanently on the list, right-click it and select Pin to this list.
