Depending on the number and length of queued recordings, the transfer may take several minutes to a few hours to complete.
I. Configure Automatic Transfer
- In the Panopto app, go to the Settings tab.
- Click Authenticate to link your Panopto and Teams accounts.
- Your Teams groups will appear on the left panel.
Important: Do no pause Personal Meetings import--this enables Panopto to transfer meetings scheduled directly from your Teams calendar (not within a Teams channel).
Tip: To import recordings from a teams' public channel, select and authenticate that specific team.
II. Change the Destination Folder
- By default, personal meeting recordings without specific folder mapping are saved in the Meeting Recordings folder inside My Folder.
- To change the destination, click Edit, use the dropdown menu to select the appropriate course folder, then click Save.
Note: If you teach multiple courses, either manually move recordings to the correct folders or use Meeting-Folder Mappings to automate the process.
III. Set Up Folder Mapping
- Click + Add New Mapping.
- Enter a recognizable name (e.g., course title).
- You may use wildcards (*) to define flexible matching.
- PSYC* maps meetings starting with “PSYC”
- *PSYC maps meetings ending with “PSYC”.
- Meeting names are not case sensitive.
- Use wildcards around keywords for more flexible matching.
- Select or type the destination course folder, then click Add.
- Repeat to create additional mappings.
- When scheduling a meeting, include the mapped keyword in the meeting title so Panopto knows where to route the recording.
- To remove a mapping, click Delete.
After the meeting ends, the recording is saved to your OneDrive for Business. If auto-transfer is enabled, a copy is also sent to the designated Panopto folder based on your configuration.
