Manage Teams Meeting Recordings in Panopto (via Teams)
This guide covers how to locate, move, or upload Teams meeting recordings using Panopto in Microsoft Teams.
Access Panopto in Teams
- From the app bar, select Panopto.
If it’s not pinned, click More apps (...) and search for “Panopto.” - If prompted, click Sign in, authenticate via Discovery, and enter your NU credentials.
- Click Log in, then close the pop-up window.
View Recordings in Panopto
- Click Everything to see all videos.
- Use the Folder Picker or search to locate a specific folder.
- If automatic transfer is enabled, recordings may take several minutes to hours to appear, depending on file size and system load.
Move Recordings Between Folders
- Hover over the video thumbnail and select it.
- Click the Move icon (folder) in the toolbar.
- In the dialog, use the Folder Picker or search to select the target folder.
- Click Move, then close the dialog.
Find Recordings in Teams
- Recordings appear in the meeting chat or channel thread (for channel-based meetings).
- Files are saved to the organizer’s OneDrive: My files > Recordings.
Download Recordings
- In Teams, go to OneDrive > My files > Recordings.
- Hover over a file, click More actions (...) > Download.
Tip: You can also open the file in Stream and download it from there.
Manually Upload to Panopto
- Open the course folder in Panopto.
- Drag and drop the file into the upload area, or click the drop zone to browse your computer.
- Use the progress bar to track the upload, then click X to close the window.
Or select + Create > Upload media to upload a new video or audio file.
Delete a Recording
- Hover over the video and click the Trash icon.
The file will move to the Recycle Bin, where it stays for 90 days.
