Customize the Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar allows you to keep your most frequently used commands within easy reach.
! Note: The Quick Access Toolbar is not available in Office for the web.
The toolbar can be positioned in two locations:
- Above the ribbon (default location)
- Below the ribbon
Change the Toolbar Location
- Select the Customize Quick Access Toolbar drop-down.
- Choose Show Below the Ribbon or Show Above the Ribbon.
Add, Move, or Remove a Command
- On the ribbon, open the tab or group containing the desired command.
- Right-click the command and the select Add to Quick Access Toolbar.
- To remove a command, right-click it and select Remove from Quick Access Toolbar.
- To change order of commands, select More Commands… from the Customize Quick Access Toolbar. Select the command you wish to move then use the Move Up or Move Down arrows.
Add Commands Not in the Ribbon
- Select More Commands… from the Customize Quick Access Toolbar.
- In the Choose commands from list, select Commands Not in the Ribbon.
- Find the command you want and select Add.
Customize Using the Options Menu
- Go to File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar.
- Use the Add and Remove buttons to modify the list of commands
- Use the Up and Down arrows to adjust the order of commands.
Import or Export Customizations
You can import or export your Quick Access Toolbar settings to maintain a consistent layout across different devices.
- Select File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar.
- Choose Import/Export > Import customization file or Export all customizations.
