Group Chat in Teams
Not every interaction deserves a full Team creation or its own Channel. In many cases, a simple Group Chat is enough for short term collaboration with others internally and externally.
At the top of your Group, you can:
Select the Chat’s picture to choose a group picture. You can scroll through the available emojis, Remove the current picture, or Upload a picture. (This option is only available in Teams for Windows.)
- Name or Rename the Group.
- View and add participants or remove people from the Group.
- Share files and start a Video Call or Audio Call from the Group.
- Pop out chat to open the Chat in its own window.
- Screen sharing shares your screen to the Group. (This option is not yet available in Teams for Windows 11.)
- Select Pin from the context [...] menu in the Chat list to keep the Group at the top.
