How to find and delete emails by date in Outlook
The Search box at the top of your Outlook window is a versatile tool, functioning as both a keyword locator and a dynamic filter, allowing you to find precisely what you are looking for.
Locating emails using Outlook’s Search tool:
- Click in the Search box, then click the chevron (v).
- Use the Search In drop-down to specify the search scope, such as the Current Folder, Subfolders, Current Mailbox, All Mailboxes, or search through All Outlook Items.
- Use the Received section to enter the desired date range.
- Optionally, enhance your search with additional criteria like sender information or presence of attachments. Click Search.
Bulk Deletion of Filtered Results:
To delete all results within the specified time period, select the messages by pressing Ctrl + A. Then, either right-click and pick Delete or click the Delete button located on the Home tab. Alternatively, you can choose Archive instead of Delete to hide the emails.
To reset the filter and return to a standard view of your Inbox, click the X icon located on the right side of the Search box.
