Master Conversation View & Cleanup in Outlook
You can optimize your email management by leveraging Conversation View in Outlook. This feature enables you to effortlessly navigate and act upon entire email threads, streamlining your inbox and enhancing overall efficiency. Additionally, Conversation Cleanup aids in decluttering your inbox by eliminating redundant emails with identical text found in replies.
Conversation view
- From any mail folder, such as your inbox, select View > Show as Conversations to toggle Conversation view on or off. Choose between All mailboxes or This folder to customize your view.
- Use the triangular expand/collapse icon to expand or collapse messages within a Conversation. The latest message is displayed on top, maintaining a consistent sort order. When a new message is part of a Conversation, the entire thread moves to the top of your list. Bold subject lines and a count of unread messages signal Conversations with unread content.
Conversation Cleanup
- On the Home tab, in the Delete group, click Clean Up if using the Classic ribbon. For simplified ribbon, click the arrow next to Delete.
- Choose to clean up a single conversation, the current folder, or the current folder and any subfolders.
