Outlook Roaming Signatures

Previously, Outlook signatures were stored locally on your Windows device, requiring manual setup on each device. With Outlook Roaming, your Outlook account settings, including email signatures, now sync automatically across all devices associated with your email address.

How to Enable Roaming Options

  1. Open the Outlook desktop app and go to File > Options. (Note: Signatures created in Outlook.com already roam.)
  2. Under Outlook Options, select General.
  3. Check the box Store my Outlook settings in the cloud.
  4. Select OK to save your changes.

Cloud Signatures vs. Device-Specific Signatures

Signatures stored on this device will not sync across devices. To ensure your signatures are associated with your email account and can roam:

  1. Go to File > Options > Mail > Signatures.
  2. Under E-mail Signatures > E-mail account, check that your signatures are liked to your email account.
  3. If your signatures appear under “Signatures on this device”, copy and paste them to your email account to enable roaming.

Outlook Settings That Can Be Roamed

The following settings in the Outlook Options dialog can be synced across devices:

  • General, Mail, Calendar, Groups, People, Tasks, Search, Accessibility, and Advanced.

Settings That Are Not Roamed

Certain settings remain device-specific and are not synced, including:

  • Language, Customize Ribbon, Quick Access Toolbar, Add-ins, and Trust Center.
