Screen Recording with Clipchamp
Your NU Microsoft 365 account includes access to Clipchamp, a built-in video editor (formerly known as Stream) that allows you to record your screen, webcam, or both. You can use it to create training videos, presentations, tutorials, and other video content.
Record
- Go to the Clipchamp homepage.
- Select Create new > Screen recording or Camera recording to begin.
- When prompted by your browser, select Allow to enable your camera and microphone. See Microsoft’s support article for guidance on enabling or troubleshooting your camera.
- Choose your preferred Camera, Mic, and Screen settings.
- Camera recordings: add optional effects such as text, backdrop, stickers, filters, frames, or boards.
- Select the Start screen recording or Start recording button.
- Screen recordings: choose the area to record—a browser tab, an application window, or your entire screen—and then select Share.
- Recording starts automatically after the countdown.
- To stop recording, select Stop sharing or return to the recording page to stop or pause manually.
Review & Upload
- After recording, you can trim, split, add music, delete, or record additional clips.
- Use the progress bar and drag the handles to trim your recording.
- Select Record more to capture additional footage.
- Select Music to add background audio.
- When finished, select Finish to upload your recording to Microsoft 365.
Enhance & Share
Once your video uploads, it opens in the Clipchamp video player, where you can enhance and share it.
- Add a title and description, generate a transcript, set a thumbnail, or add chapters to make navigation easier. You can also suppress background noise and apply other enhancements.
- Select Share to generate a link you can send to viewers.
- Select Analytics on the player page to view engagement data, including view tracking, visitor trends, and playback insights.
