Schedule and Join a Meeting in Teams

Teams enables virtual meetings for presentations, small group work, and one-on-one discussions. Meetings scheduled in Teams will automatically appear in your Outlook calendar and vice versa.

Schedule a Calendar Meeting

  1. Open the Calendar in Teams: Select Calendar in Teams.
  2. Create a New Meeting: Select [+] New meeting.
  3. Add Meeting Details: Fill in the meeting details and use the following options in the Add required attendees field:
    • To invite someone within NU, type their full name and select it from the Global Address List
    • To include optional attendees, select Optional and add their names.
    • To invite someone outside NU, type their full email address.
  4. Send Invitations: Click Send. Invitees will receive an email with a meeting link.

Share a Meeting Link

You can also share a meeting link to invite participants.

  1. Create or Open a Meeting: Schedule a meeting or select an existing one in your Teams calendar.
  2. Copy the Link: Right-click the event and select Copy link to copy the meeting URL. Share it with participants.

Reschedule a Meeting

To change the meeting time:

  1. Drag and Drop: Select the meeting in your Teams calendar, drag it to a new timeslot, and drop it. 
  2. Edit Meeting Details: Alternatively, open the meeting, update the time, and click Send update. Attendees will receive a notification with the new time.

Meeting Recordings

Meeting recordings are saved based on the type of meeting:

  • Calendar Meetings: Recordings are processed and saved in the meeting organizer’s OneDrive for Business. 
  • Channel Meetings: Recordings connected to a Team are saved to the Channel in which they occurred.
